Windows XP KB840374

Hi!
I have a Sony Vaio PCG-GRX 316MP running XP Pro. I have it set up to
advise me when downloads are ready for installation. When I have
downloaded Windows XP KB840374 it reports back that it has successfully
installed. If I run Windows Update from Help & Support it tells me that
a critical update, Windows XP KB840374, is missing! Used search to find
Windows XP KB840374 which it does in Prefetch as
"Windows-XP-KB840374-86-ENU.ex-2EDF36IE" What is going on and have I got
the patch properly installed please ?

Also try to see if you have in the Windows folder a subfolder called
$NtUninstallKB840374$
