Windows XP is messed up

Last year (I think in late August, when SP2 final came out), I had the
pre-SP2 version installed. I accidentally installed SP2 Final over it and in
my About Windows dialog it says that it's the RTM version. I keep on getting
Explorer crashes, and I tried to look in Microsoft Support and I found
nothing. I tried to uninstall SP2 once, everything was fine, but when I went
into WIndows Update SP2 wouldn't come up. I don't know if the SP2 cd is
TOTALLY free, can anybody tell me if I have to pay money to get the SP2 CD??
I am totally confused, and I cannot mess up the computer because there is
alot of personl and work data in it and if it gets deleted, I will be in big
trouble, so, what am I supposed to do??????

Word od advice, once you get going again, delet, disable whatever you need
to do to get rid of internet exploder!!! I highly recomend (as did PC
Magazine) use Mozilla Firefox for your web browser.

Thanks! :) I just ordered it right now :D lol Thanks again!

Or you could have picked it up at the counter at Best Buy, Staples, Office
Max, etc. It's as ubiquitous as the AOL CD.
