Windows XP Invalid administrator password when using recovery console

When the computer is turned on, there is a damaged file
which does not allow XP to load. When attempting to use
the recovery console, I am prompted for an administrator
password. I entered the password, but the message was
that the password is not valid. Has anyone had success
with such a situation?
