Windows Xp Installer problem

I had Peachtree Accounting on the computer, and I uninstalled it. The OS is
Windows XP Home. Now anytime I run Windows Mechanic the Windows Installer
pops up, and tries to install Peachtree Accounting which has been removed
from the computer. I tried JV16 tools, regedit, search and more to no avail.
No where other than in the Windows Installer does this occur. . How do I get
rid of this annoyance?
