hi there, i would like to install windows xp on a system which has DOS operating system, and when i put windows Xp cd there it says that it need windows there, how can i get this problem solve, thanks

Hi Hamad,

Try placing the CD in the CD-ROM drive, boot you system and configure the
ROM BIOS setup so the system is configured to boot from the CD-ROM drive
first. Boot from the CD and proceed with the installation.

You can dual-boot Windows XP with MS-DOS, but you must
install XP on a separate drive or partition.

Hi,
Enter the BIOS,change the boot order in the system BIOS so the CD boots
before the hard drive.Save the changes and restart with XP CD inside the
CD-ROM.Follow on screen instructions.

I'd guess that you have an upgrade CD, which wants proof of a
qualifying product before it will install WinXP. DOS doesn't qualify.
