My Windows installation recently crashed to a point where I cannot
repair it.
Windows setup hangs at "Searching for previous versions of Microsoft
Windows". I have tried the recovery console, but once I selected option
1(the only option) it hangs. I can access the files on the disk with
another installation, and I've tried CHKDSK and a couple of other
repair tools as well, with no success.
When I format the particular disk, Windows installs fully without any
problems, but it crashes after 2 days of usage with the same results:
it cannot be repaired. I've tried it with 2 seperate disks, both brand
new, so I'm suspecting that something else is causing windows to crash.
I'm not trying to save the particular windows installation that
crashed, I'm merely trying to prevent it. If anybody experienced the
same thing, and know what caused this, please inform me which hardware
caused this.
