Windows XP installation problem: help!

Paul

A friend of mine works in a computer lab at a University, and offered
to get me a free site license and media for Windows XP Profesional (to
upgrade from Home). He gave me the software, and several
months later I actually tried to install it.... Unfortunately, I had
lost the product code by then (after starting the installation), and my
friend was no help at this point.

So there I am with Windows XP half-installed. Because I need to use my
computer for my job, my employer purchased a site-licence for XP
Professional for me (and an installation disk). Unfortunately, I can
seem to interupt the previous installation. How do I install from the
new disk for which I have a product code?

1st,thier is no upgrade from xp home to xp pro,the upgrade is for older
windows OS.If you tried to install thru windows explorer, that to was a
mistake. The only way to install pro from home is to boot to the xp pro cd,
select install xp,new copy, delete the partition (xp home),create one, then xp
formats & does a clean installation..From here, you should do the same...
