I need to find out,, , when you install windows, with out the install key
number, is there a way, after the 30days are up to input the key, or do you
have to reinstall the Windows XP. Thanks in advance

You will need to boot to safe mode and do a phone call activation.

Hello Michael,
You cannot activate in Safe Mode. The activation code is not running while
in safe mode, it only runs in normal mode. So the activation wizard is not
an option when you are booted into Safe Mode
You will get the activation wizard when you log on after the 30 day grace
period, so you can change the key there under the phone activation page.
You cannot access the rest of the system after 30 days, but the activation
wizard is still available to run.
Thanks,
Darrell Gorter[MSFT]
