I have been trying to install XP on a newly built system and have received a
variety of errors messages. The install got halfway through one time, but
typically I get a blue screen page fault or stop error early on in the
install. All of my hardware is functioning properly (as far as I can tell)
and the configuration is as follows:
Just4PC ATX 747 Black Mid-Tower Case w/ 425W Power Supply
Mach Speed V400 KT400 Motherboard
AMD Athlon XP2400+ Processor Thorougbred Core w/ Squeeze Socket A
Cooling Fan
60 Gig 7200 RPM IBM Hard Drive
eVGA GeForce MX4000 128MB DDR 8X AGP w/ TV & DVI
512MB PC2700 DDR 333MHx Ram
Artec 52x24x52 Internal IDE CDRW Drive
1.44MB Floppy Disk Drive
Could someone please give me some things to look for in the bios that might
help, should I use standard defaults, optimum defaults and what settings
would installation be picky about. Should I swap out video cards and use an
older 64Mb video card. The installation disk I have has SP 1, but I think it
is an older issue lacking some updates. Is there a way I could load my
drivers from CD before installation and keep them. Not sure how without an
operating system. Have gotten memory errors also, but it worked in another
system. Would appreciate any help.
Thanks,
Gregg
