Problems with installing 2k

Everytime I try to install 2k on my system (Specs: Soyo
KT400 Black Edition w/ AMD Athlon 2400+, 512mb Corsair
DDR, 256mb GeForce FX 5200, 30gb Maxtor, and a 52x24x52 CD-
rom drive), the Installation generates an error everytime
in the last 10% of copying the files. I am wondering if
this is just a freak occurance with my system, or if there
are other people with the exsisting problem.

Generally errors during the text mode of setup indicate a
bad cd.
