Windows Xp Install 120G Wd Hard Drive Fail

Joel Fulton

I am trying to get windows to preinstall on two different
model computers (based on inte/gigabyte and amd/gigabyte
combination with 120Gb Wd hard drives.. after the first
restart during xp pre-installation the hard drive will
not boot and the system simply hangs until i reset the
comptuer. If i change the hard drive to a 40G it works..
DOes anyone know how to fix this problem?

Make sure the BIOS of the machines sees the harddrive properly in terms of
size. Also, make sure that the controller you are using is natively
supported by the OS. If the machine needs a third party driver you will
need to specify it with an F6 at boot.
