HELP, my puter crashed fine style was using windows
media player at the time, now all it does is reboot
continiously, gets to the windows xp logo, then briefly
flashes a blue screen the back to the beggining, for a
another reeboot, ENDLESS ROUTINE.........wont even let me
into safe mode, someone suggested f10 for task manager,
then delete unregmp2 cant even get there............

Try this:

If you have a copy of your windows xp disc, boot from that and select "R"
for repair. This will take you to the recover console. select the number
that is your system drive, (i.e. c:\windows or c:\windows\system) it should
be "1".

After that, it should drop you into the command prompt (c:\windows)
Type, "chkdsk /p" without quotes
after that is finished, type, "fixboot c:" without quotes
then type exit. This will reboot your machine and it should boot normally.

Do you know what causes this problem? I don't have the
windows xp disc, just a system recovery cd. If I use
that I loose all my data and installed programs. Any
other solution? Can I back[up my data withou windows?

Dude the same thing happened to me twice! using a buddies computer I went to the MS Dowmload site and found a listing for a recovery process that uses 6 floppie discs to get you to a "start-up" Program/Recovery console screen. If you knowhow to use the recovery console do so ,if not,you will need to have the install disc (cd) to use when prompted. Good luck

Start up program floppies throw me back into the loop.
I an in an XP install loop after an accidental deletion of index files.
Safe Mode stops and says, I can't run setup in Safe Mode, then goes back into
the loop.

Thanks mike, it works fine!

Just one thing..
After the chkdsk, I was asked something about a new sector in the partition,
which I answered No. Then it went back to C prompt, which i entered Exit, and
after this, Win Xp retarted normally.

Thanks pal!
