I have a friend with a home edition of XP that froze
before the login screen and in safe mode after loading all
drivers.. I did a repair install on the system and no the
system resets in safe mode after loading drivers. And in
normal mode before loading the login screen .. a message
that windows is now restarting... or something like that!
Does any one out there knows or can Help me I don't want
to format and install windows.

HELP!!!

Thank You

Since we don't know anything about the computer itself, it's hard to
give you a specific answer. Assuming the problem is software, it sounds
like you would have to do a clean install; i.e., format the drive and
start over.

However, there is nothing in your post that would lead me to assume the
problem *is* only software; it might very well be a hardware issue. The
computer could be overheating, the RAM could be bad, etc. There's just
no way to know from the information you provided. If you are unsure how
to do hardware/software diagnosis yourself, take the machine to a good
local computer repair shop (not a BestBuy or CompUSA type of store).
Otherwise, repost with a lot more information about the computer's
specs, what changed between the time things worked and the time things
didn't, and what you've already done to troubleshoot.
