windows xp home won't install

jrwatts2 \(removethis\)

trying to install windows xp home edition over my previous
windows me. everything appears normal until my computer
reboots to the windows xp home edition splash screen, then
i get a "blue screen crash" with the following error msg.

stop: c0000221 unknown hard error
\systemroot\system32\ntdll.dll

anyone ever have this wonderful experience?

i'd love any ideas or help.

Are you upgrading from within WinME? Or are you booting the CD and doing a
clean installation?
