windows xp home version

was there not a newer vwesion of windows xp home other than 5.1.2600 build
2600?

I crashed my hard drive a year ago and then loaded it back up, i was thrown
to a newer version; this past weekend i did the very same thing but i was
not redirected to load up newer version; can someone help me with this delima?

The newest version of Windows XP is still build 2600, but there is
Service Pack 2 which is have been available for a considerable time
now. Look in Control Panel - System - General to see the Service Pack
level for your installed XP.
