Hi,

I wonder if any kind persons would help me with a few problems with my
Windows XP Home Edition software. Everytime I turn off my computer it
physically goes to reboot and will not shut down although I am following the
procedure of Turn off Computer.

I also have a problem when my antivirus automatically updates itself. I get
an error message as it completes the task of updating itself and it
forewarns me that it is very sorry and will have to close my web browser. It
just closes the web browser. I just reopen it and carry on.

I have the most recent updates installed upon my computer from Microsoft
which I received on a CD Rom Disk from Microsoft and all other updates are
installed automatically.

Thanking you all for all the kind help that you can advise me of
J. Jordan

Hi Jordan

This newsgroup is about Microsoft Access, the database. You may get better
help by asking in a Windows question, or by contacting the company who made
your antivirus program about that problem.

If your Windows XP closes down to a screen that says that it's okay to turn
the computer off but does not actually turn off, you may be able to address
that issue by opening the Windows Control Panel, and adjusting settings
there. For example, if you see a box for ACPI, try checking it.

I'd suggest asking this in a newsgroup related to Windows XP (there are
numerous ones starting microsoft.public.windowsxp)

This newsgroup is for questions about Access, the database product that's
part of Office Professional.
