Windows xp home, NO SOUNDS DEVICE HELP!

I installed windows xp home... I used to have xp pro and sound worked fine then

Once i installed home the sound didnt work, Iv had this problem before i
just have to repair the sound device BUT there is no sound device. I need
help please someone tell me how to get a sound device.

Windows xp home sp2
Compaq Presario
 
You did visit Compaq and download install your mobo chipset and other
drivers?
Obtain drivers from Compaq NOT winupdate
