I'm not quite sure what you are asking. System Restore will restore your system back to a certain date and time, but may not be advisable, depending on which virus you had. With a 'System Recovery' you will probably have to use the XP CD that came with your PC. What kind of XP CD have you got - a 'Recovery' disk, OEM version...
