Windows XP Home Edition..

Hello,

I had a glitch upon start up with my computer and it would only cycle
between the page which says " start windows normally"
and it got as far as the windows xp opening page sign..that was it..I tried
everything before finally having to reformat the computer entirely.
I reloaded everything ..all the drivers..software for scanner
printer..etc...l worked out all the little issues except for something I have
never come across before.
Everything is fine except a Windows issue? or is it Internet Explorer? when
I
open the internet..all my pages incuding my home page which I use Yahoo..are
all messed up in size ..they are either too small or too
large..the font..
I can adjust the page options on yahooo home page itself ..however hitting
narrow page does not fill the whole monitor screen properly.hitting page wide
and it is so huge I could stand out on the street and read it..
I have unloaded and reloaded Internet Explorer..it did nothing.
I went into control panel and to change font size etc..does nothing for
this issue.
The fonts come up very large on one area of the page while another may be
perfectly normal . And they will overlap each other on the pages I open.
has anyone any ideas?
I did well to get this far not knowing alot but I do not have a clue how to
fix this.

PS : I was very kindly given a response to the above e-mail but due to the
huge page this response was opening in I was unable to respond to the person
who helped me I apologize. It isn't too
huge today..
They suggested I remove all cables from the back except mouse pc monitor and
k/b I did ..no change. Then it was suggested I disable a video display
card..I have no idea what that is.
the third suggestion was to open in safemode w/ networking which I did..
the home page finally opened filling the screeen normally and the web
pages were a bit better more a normal size but still some very large fonts
and overlapping fonts on some pages.
I do not know how to adjust anything in safe mode to possibly fix this issue.
I am trying to fix it myself as I do not have the funds at the moment to
pay someone to come in to have a look at it.
any ideas ? if this makes any sense to anyone please let me know.

PPS: Also recently the mouse seems to be out of control.. but does not
show needing any adjustments in the control
panel..but it worked fine in safe mode.??

Thanks you so much,

Lee

Press the Ctrl key as you scroll the mouse key. That should change the
size of the text. Or, click View, Text Size, Smaller.

Other things to try:

http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
202. (r-h column) Set Magnify Options Back to Default
135. (r-h column) Restore Accessibility Options to Default Settings

Open Display Properties, click Themes tab, change theme to "Windows XP".
I can adjust the page options on Yahoo home page itself.. however hitting

Narrow Page? Do you mean the "Restore" view where you can resize the
window by dragging the edges wider?
Hitting page wide

Page Wide? Do you mean Maximized?
and it is so huge I could stand out on the street and read it..
