Windows XP Home edition installation problems

When installing a new full retail version of Windows XP
Home edition, I get the following message; "The file
shell32.dll was not copied correctly." I am copying to a
new NTFS formatted hard drive, with minimal hardware
(floppy drive 60G hdd and 56x cdrom drive). The machine
has a Biostar M7VKQ motherboard that is XP compatible, and
I have updated the BIOS. The processor is an Athlon
1.2gH, 256 megs ram.

I've tried the install a number of times, always with the
same results. Would appreciate any help.

Usually when I have an issue with a specific file being corrupted from
the cd, it's usually because there's a fingerprint on the CD. Try
wiping the cd off with a soft cloth. I suspect your windze cd may be
dirty. Or scratched.
