No.

Do you still have the keycode.
Check the side case cover or bottom side of laptop

Assuming the last thing is a question... No would be your answer.

If you can beg/borrow an installation CD of the same type/version as what
you had installed and you have a product key (on a sticker on the computer
itself, possibly) - then you may be okay.

If/when you get things to normal again - you will likely want to consider
backups. ;-)

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and
product upgrades, and replace product manuals"

I've never used the service, but I expect that it's reasonably inexpensive
to get replacement installation media. (Microsoft may first try to get you
to go to your PC's manufacturer, if you have a commercial unit.)

However, I hope that you still have the license key for XP. That basically
contains the value of the product; the installation media have nearly no
value.

No, there isn't.

However, it's *possible* that all is not lost. If your system has a COA
license sticker on it, it's likely an OEM version. In that case, you may
be able to find a generic OEM install CD, and use it *with the key written
on the COA*.

If the key is accepted, you're in good shape. Take a copy of that CD and
set it aside.

What do you mean by "lost my hard drive?"

* Did you put it somewhere but can't remember where?
* Did it wander off or fall from your pocket?
* Was it stolen?
* Will it not boot?
* Will it not power up?

The reason I ask is that many times an unusable hard drive can be restored
to a viable condtion.
