windows xp home edition cd-rom

pls help-i have a new sony vaio desktop (3200 series)
that crashed recently. windows xp home edition was
already pre-installed on my computer. a colleague at
work suggested that i make the 6 bootable floppy disk set
which i did and they work fine. but after loading all of
the disks it is now asking for the windows xp home
edition cd-rom? how do i obtain that cd-rom???? i
assume it's now downloadable off the internet? do i have
to go purchase it at a store?

The oem(sony) is required to give you a means to restore the computer back
to factory condition. This can be with a real xp cd, a restore cd, or xp
setup files stored on a hidden partition. Contact Sony to find out how to
reinstall windows.
