windows xp home 64 bit version

now that ive got the athlon 64, when will microsoft come
out w/ an OS that will exploit it? i know there are gonna
be games coming out soon for 64 bit processors, so when
will there be an OS? just wondering

Windows XP 64Bit for the Althlon 64 is planned for release sometime next

There is a version of XP (more a version of Pro, but from the gaming
viewpoint that means just unneeded extras) that is in late development
for the 64 bit instruction extensions. . Meantime, the 32 bit XP in
the 32 bit mode.

We are currently developing a AMD64 version of Windows XP Professional.
It will be released when it meets the necessary quality bar and satisfies
our Beta customers.

However I am very interested in your statement "... I know there are gonna
be games coming out soon for 64 bit processors ..." -- Can you please
provide specifics of any games studio that is currently targeting 64-bit
development, on either AMD64 or Intel Itanium II.
