I can't open the Help and Support Center for Windows XP Media Center Edition, and I am no longer able to make desktop shortcuts. The error message also prevents me from running other fixes I need to make for Windows Installer to install Adobe 9. The error message/details from McAfee VirusScan reads:

HAWK - Hostile Script Alert

C:\WINDOWS\pchealth\helpctr\binaries\helpctr.exe

Interface Name: IWshShell3
Interface Documentation: Shell Object Interface
Method Name: RegRead
Method Documentation:

Can anyone help me with a fix? Thanks a million.

Thank you for your reply and link. I tried it, but I do get an error message that reads:

Data Execution Prevention - Microsoft Windows
To help protect your computer, Windows has closed this program
Name: Microsoft (R) Windows Based Script Host

Then, when I click on the link for "What should I do?" the HAWK virus window comes up as already described.

Any suggestions? Thanks.
