Windows XP H.E. Lost my icons

I just upgraded my OS from W-M.E. to W-XP-H.E. When the
installation was completed, none of my prior icons that
were on my desktop now existed. Can these icons be
restored? The programs that the icons launch are also
not shown in the START - ALL PROGRAMS listing. I found
Windows Explorer and my programs folders seem to be
outlined there but I need to be able to launch them from
desktop icons as I had done in all prior versions of
Windows. Please guide me on the icon restoration.

Hi Tom,

See if they are under a different profile, open Windows Explorer to
C:\Documents and Settings and look under the various profiles presented
there.

Tom, after and upgrade you have to reinstall all your old programs that
were working on Me. When you
reinstall they will probably leave a Shortcut Icon on the Desktop like
you had before.
