Windows XP guest login

When connecting to a WinXP system in the same workgroup
from another WinXP system or a Win2k system I'm prompted
only for the guest user account login. If I try
to "connect as" a valid local user with admin rights I get
denied and am again prompted to login as guest. I tried
to disable the guest account, but get the same behavior.
Any ideas would be mucho appreciated. Thanks!

Michael,

XP Home, by any chance, or Simple File Sharing enabled on XP
Pro? In these cases only Guest login is available, but should be
automatic if Guest has no password and is not otherwise blocked.
