Windows XP GPO Power management

I have an Windows 2003 server Active directory environment with mostly
Windows XP clients.
I am applying power settings to all the windows XP clients through GPO using
the EZ GPO PM tool.

I have clients trying to run a presentation but the GPO settings keep
shutting down the screen. If we set the power scheme to Presentation it
temporarily disables the power settings schemes but the GPO eventually
overwrites the presentation scheme. If we go back to the presentation scheme,
the settings for it are overwritten with the GPO defaults.

Is there anyway to revert to and from a presentation setting quicker than
the control panel? Are there any third party power management programs that
may help with these features?

Thank you,
Rob

Yes. If the power icon is in the tray (notification area, lower right of
screen), clicking on it will display a list of power profiles and the current
one will be bulleted. Simple click on the Presentation choice.

Of course this change will revert whenever the machine is restarted.
Depending on your GPO refresh settings, it may also be refreshed in the
background, which could be annoying if it occurs in the middle of a
presentation.

If only certain machines are used for presentations (e.g., in conf. rooms,
laptops, etc.), you may want to exclude these from the GPO, or at least
exclude these from a background refresh so that once a user makes a change it
will be persistent until the machine is restarted - just a thought.
