Hi, I have recently have had a hardware problem and to
correct it i would need to do a complete reinstallation of
XP. I'm wondering if i have that CD to do it, as if i dont
it would be alot harder. The one i have is from the
manufacurer (DELL) and it say's Reinstallation for
Window's XP Sevice Pack 1. Is this Cd considered a Fresh
copy of the operating system, or would i have to get one
from a store? Thanks, Rob.

Hi Robert,

Your Dell product recovery disk should be sufficient. Just check their
documentation for the proper steps to use it.

Robert,

If I'm not mistaken, if you use that reinstall it will
erase all that you've installed since you got your
computer.
