Windows XP Firewall

I understand that to set the Windows XP Firewall I click a box I should find in "Network Connection", my dialup ISP connection, right-click, Properties, Advanced.
But when I go there I get "Windows cannot display the properties of this connection. The WMI information might be corrupted."
I cannot use System Restore as disconnected it to remove the worm blaster virus.
What should I do, to get access to the Windows XP Firewall please?

I would first consider removing the network interface - that dialup
connection.
I would probably reboot just to be conservative.
Then I would set up a new dialup interface.
Then see if you don't have access to the properties of the connection.
