Windows XP firewall- how to force domain profile

I have problems with windows xp laptops properly connected to the
domain, but not picking up the domain firewall policy. They pick up
the standard firewall policy even after restarting, refreshing the
group policy etc.

Any help will be appreciated.

You will need to use netdiag in order to test where precisely the
problem is.
The firewall must basically allow full connection with each domain
controller, any of them may deploy the gpo to the laptop.
Also you can use gpresult that only focuses on troubleshooting gpo
problems.
