Windows XP file explorer (change navigation options and views)

is there any way to make the windows file explorer on XP resemble the
earlier styles used in 2000 and such? specifically the navigation in
the left pane -- the XP style uses 1-click web type folders which i'm
not liking. also, the 2000 version shows the tree lines so you can see
how deep you are which XP has removed for some mysterious reason.

anyone have any ideas how to modify these properties?

Hi Dennis,
Open an explorer window (My Documents will do) select tools from the toolbar
and select 'Folder Options' in the 'General' tab select 'Double-click to
open an item (single-click to select)'
Click Apply then OK.
At the top of your explorer window in the toolbar there will be a 'Folders'
icon (Usually next to Search) if you press this it will replace common tasks
on the left of your screen with a folder tree.

Hope this Helps,

Simon.

Simon,

i've already done both of those and it still doesn't look/feel like it
did on win2000.

folders: still behave goofy, closing previous folders if you click a
folder at the same depth level.

tree lines: i know how to make the folders appear in the left pane, but
the lines are never there (showing you how deep you are)

anyone else have any ideas?
