Windows XP file encryption

I was expirementing with the encryption on Windows XP Pro
and didn't know much of what I was doing to hopefully
make it more secure but installed my OS again since I
wanted to start fresh with a healthy partition with SP2
on it and now I can't get into my files. I remember most
of my login password but will it still be of any help in
getting my data back? Please help. Thank You.

You formatted and reinstalled Windows XP Pro?
Your encrypted data was on a different partition?
If so your data is most likely gone for good unless you backed the
necessary keys:
