Windows XP: Explorer search - disabling auto-refresh

F

fred

I have a search window open following a search and find that if the drive I
searched changes (by say downloading some files from the internet) then
Explorer Search will automatically repeat the search. Any idea how I can
disable this auto-refresh behaviour?

Win XP sp1a, indexing off and service disabled, classic view, search
assistant off.

I think something like Agent Ransack is the solution for me but I need a
low tech solution for the hard of computering.

No luck from Kelly's site & other usual suspects.
