down right away. i have windows xp home edition

Shirleen:
Not much to go on in your post, but the reference to "nt error" makes me
suspect you may have picked up the Blaster worm. More info is available at
the following links...

If this is not the problem, please post back with more information,
especially the details of the "nt error". Info on making a good newsgroup
post is available here http://www.dts-l.org/goodpost.htm

Shirleen, you have the Blaster worm.
You got it by "unsafe surfing," as in not using a firewall
and not downloading the MS patch against Blaster last
summer. You also need antivirus software, kept current. Go
to Symantec.com, after enabling your existing XP firewall.
Download their repair patch for Blaster.
Yuo need to be more aware!

i can't even get on the computer to do anything. i'm on
my computer at work now. what to do?

Use the work computer to download Stinger to a floppy disk to take home. And
make a new post asking how to use the floppy on your Blaster-disabled
machine. Step by step. They will tell you.
