Windows XP Driver Description

[Help Needed]

For some reasons I uninstalled a USB controller driver, which had an IR
device attached to the USB. When the driver was re-installed, a new driver
description (IR #2) for assigned. XP does not allow renaming to the
original description because it "already exists." Is there a way to get
around this or to delete the original description. Thanks.

Yes, if you search the registry you will see the entry., and all can be
removed, both in the registry,, and device manager then restart to rebuild a
new "#1"
