windows xp domain

i can not turn on my windows firewall because it says settings are controlled
by group policy by the network administrator. i am no in a network

The computer you purchased was once part of a network, and whoever sold it
to you did not remove the settings made by the network administrators.

i have a dell computer i purchased new approx. 2 yrs ago. the fire wall and
everything else worked fine until recently.
