windows xp does not recognize all memory

I have a compaq presario 4410us and decided to install
more memory my bios and everything but xp says I have 640
ram but windows xp says I only have the original 128 ram
If any one knows what I could do I would appreciate it
very much
 
Hello

Well try and make sure that the additional ram you installed
is the same as what you have in your pc, also you could have
some bad memory. Try replacing it
