Windows XP does not recognise programs

I have recently installed Windows XP as a multiboot with 98SE. However now
if I boot up in XP I do not have the option to use any of the programs that
were previously installed and that were working perfectly with 98 - do I need
to reinstall every program that I want to run under XP, using XP?

My hard disk is currently set up with multiple partitions, one for 98SE OS,
one for SWAP file, one for XP OS, one for Program files and one for Data
files. This partitioning and all the program and data files were set up
using 98SE and FAT32. Yesterday I installed XP also using FAT32 in order
that it would be accessible using 98 if needed.

If anyone has any idea how to use the already installed programs without the
need for reinstallation, you help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Yes. Yoiu can install to the same folder to save disk space.
