Hi everybody

I work in a place where several computers have installed
windows 98 and mine is Windows XP (All of this are in a
workgroup and everyting is ok). Recently password were
set to improve protection (only for writing privileges),
but the problem is that from my pc I can see all the
shared resources BUT CAN NOT WRITE TO any of those
resources (shared drives). I'm not asked to provide a
password. I know the password but never recieve a notice
to provide it. Have read to many articles about
networking, but none answers my cuestion... ¿how do i get
the password box so i can have write privileges?

Note: from the win98 pcs i get the "provide password"
box, but not from my pc (winxp).

Help please!!!

WE menu Tools (or r-click on MyNetworkPlaces)/Disconnect Network
Drive/disconnect W9x shares.
Reconfigure W9x network from the Share-level to User-level access control
and get rid of password-protecting the shares.
