I have been trying to download and install DirectX 9 from the MicroSoft
website with no success. I receive a message indicating that the software
does not have a valid digital signature and therefore will not be installed.
I never get the option to "ignore and continue the installation". My
operating system is Windows XP Home Edition SP1 on an HP Pavilion 725n. I am
running "service pack 1" because I have similar issues trying to get the
required "Background Intelligent Transfer Service" (BITS 2.0) and "WinHTTP
5.1" to load and install. I have administrator rights on the system and have
set the "Digital Signing" options in the control panel to "Ignore" and "Warn
before installing". Neither setting allows the software to be installed. I
have read through the various WindowsXP tech boards, but have not found a
solution to this issue. Is there something in the registry that I should
look for that could be causing this problem???
Thanks!!!
