Windows XP dial up networking set up problem

I generally run my pc on broadband however i have tried
to set up a dial up connection but when got to hte
section to select dial up in the wizard it was greyed
out. Only Broadband was available to select. How do I
make dial up available?

Do you have a dial-up modem installed on your system?
I think it is greyed out if it can't find a modem to use.
Check if it is present or flagged up in device manager and try running
diagnostics from the "Phones and Modems" control panel applet.
If you just have a broadband connection it is unlikely to be an analog modem
as well.
Also, are you logged on as administrator? Your pc may be configured not to
allow limited user to create new dial-up networking accounts.
