I re-installed Windows XP, applied all updates from MS and
here's and got a few surprises. 1) When I doudle click to
explode a folder, the Search window comes up. Bit of a
nuisance. And I finally shot that goofy mutt some genius
found in a clip-art file. 2) I have an 80 gig hard drive
partitioned as C: (50 gb) and E: (30 gb) and a second hard
drive D: (30 gb) and a 1.8GHz P4 with 512mb. I copied
several folders totalling 870mb first from D: to E:, then
copied the same folders to D:. D: to E: took 530 secs, D:
to D: took 130 secs. Make sense? I couldn't believe the
discrepancy. Anyone experience anything similar?
