Windows XP crashing

Our computer suddenly started having a problem. When we play a game on it (we
have tried 2 different ones, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and
Empires: Dawn of the Modern World) we get a message that the game has
encountered a serious problem and needs to close. The data from the last
report was: Error Signature: AppName:swkotor.exe Mod Ver:6.14.10.3671
AppVer.1.0.30 OffSet: 000924c8 ModName:sisgl.dll (A different error
message came up once time that said the memory could not be read, I don't
know what else it said, I closed it before writing it down.) The options, for
the message about the game needing to close, are to debug or send an error
report, We have done both. The error message shows up periodically
throughout the games. We could usually restart the game and get past that
part. However, the star wars game has gotten to a point that we always get
the message and cannot get past that part. (This is where the message about
the memory came up.) Sometimes this makes the computer restart and we have
an error message about windows has crashed when it restarts. Also, when we
start our computer the screen is black until the place to log in comes up,
the compaq logo does not come up or anything else that came up before the log
in screen. I don't remember what that was now, lol. Is there someone who
can help us to figure out what is wrong? We hope that this is not some
irreparable problem. Everything else seems to be working fine. Any help
would really be appreciated. Thanks, Karis

It's possible that the Video Card and driver for the system are not good
enough to handle those games. Check the game specs against your system specs.
