Windows XP Corrupt Profiles

We have a remote facility that is experiencing an issue with profiles on
Windows XP clients becoming corrupt. The pc's are a member of our domain, and
are shared amoung about 15 people, none of which are using roaming profiles.

We are aware of how to fix the profile issues once they occur, but we are
looking more into what could be causing the profiles to become corrupt in the
first place. Thus far, all of our web searches for information have only come
up with how to fix the profiles or the typical "Microsoft sucks" type of
comments.

Any help, advice, comments, or a direction to go would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

What exactly are the symptoms? What part of the profile is corrupt?
How do you know it's corrupt? Are there specific error messages the
users are getting? What steps are you taking that resolve the issue?
You'll need to provide more specific information regarding what you're
experiencing if you expect to obtain useful, relevant assistance...

If they are local profiles I'd look to hardware problems. Do the error logs
indicate any instances of chkdsk having 'repaired' the disk structure? If so
I'd check for a failing disk, or IDE/SATA controller problems, or possibly
software causing BSODs.
