Windows XP Compressed Folders

Francois

Hi

I am experiencing some issues with the compressed folder
features of XP. I have directories with lots of zip files
in them, when I try to go to those directories or try to
right-click on any .zip file my explorer is busy with
something(i.e. hangs) for a couple of minutes before any
responce returns. I would like to know if there anything
that can be done to remidy this or to maybe disable the
built-in compressed folder functionality.

Thanks

Common issue with Explorer and Search combined. However, if you disable the
function, what good will that be? Here are the steps for either/or:

Before Search:
regsvr32 /u zipfldr.dll
regsvr32 /u cabview.dll

After Search:
regsvr32 zipfldr.dll
regsvr32 cabview.dll
