Windows XP collects all my Word files into mini menus.

I am doing some work in which I need to have several Word files open at the
same time to cut and paste from one to another etc. These start off by being
displayed individually on the task bar then suddenly they all appear on a
mini 'Word' menu which I then have to click to choose the file required.
I would like to keep them individually displayed so I can click directly on
each one on the task bar.

Many thanks to anyone who can help with this.

Try this.

Right click the Taskbar | Properties | Taskbar tab | UNCheck Group similar
taskbar buttons | Click Apply | Click OK

Group similar taskbar buttons
[[Displays taskbar buttons for files opened by the same program in the same
area of the taskbar. In addition, if the taskbar becomes so crowded with
buttons that the width of the buttons shrinks beyond a certain width, then
the buttons for the same program are collapsed into a single button.
Clicking the button lets you access the document you want. Right-clicking
the button lets you close all the documents you want.]]

I've been called a lot of things, but never a genius. Keep having fun. :-)
