Windows XP - Chinese Language options

Hi There I wonder if anyone can assist please?

A chinese neighbour has a Toshiba from China (at least that's the brand on the outside) It has XP Windows home edition, Version 2002 Service Pack 1 installed - (Chinese Version). She tried to install the Optus CD budget server pack to connect to the NET. It got half way through the auto-install and sat there! Optus says they don't support chinese versions of Windows.

What’s her options? - eg Install Aussi Windows XP? - What about Chinese characters so she communicate to China - Is it just a font set or is special software needed?

Thanks Peter

Hi,

She can try the Aussie version and install language support for chinese
(control panel/regional and language options). The system file set will
remain Aussie, but she should be able to use the chinese character set for
web, email, etc..
