windows xp cd won't copy files to HD

I am doing a clean install of windows xp pro on a new harddrive. During the
copying portion I get (file could not be copied) error messages. I thought it
might be the CD-ROM but I replaced that with a new one and I still get those
messages. If I skip the file and finish installing, EI shuts down and
sometimes the computer will reboot on its own. How can I get the OS to
install with all the necessary DLL, SYS, etc. files.

Try copying the entire i386 folder and any sub folders direct to the
HD and install from that.
