Windows XP can't see / access W98 machine but vice versa works...

I have a home network w/ a wireless (and wired) router an XP Home
machine and a W98 laptop.

I cannot seem to access the W98 machine from the XP (regardless of
connecting the laptop wired or wireless).

Symptoms:

- I can open up the share folder on the XP machine from the 98 by
name.
- I can ping either way, by name or IP address.
- I can print to the printer attached to the XP machine from the W98.
- Both computers have the same workgroup name, have shared folders
active.
- XP can't find the 98 machine using "View workgroup computers" or
when
I try to open a window to it by name.
- Both machines have 1 and only 1 entry under attached devices in the
router
setup.

Any ideas? Thx.

Here's a minor update. My description for the XP box was quite long,
so when I shortened it, I was then able to see the XP machine on
*itself* under network places, and also on Network neighborhood on the
98 machine. Still cannot see / access the 98 machine from the XP. On
98's Network Neighborhood, it doesn't see itself either, although I
*AM* able to open up a window to the 98's share on the 98 by name (ie
\\98NAME).
