Windows XP BIOS

In upgrading from Windows ME to XP. Step #3 Upgrading
your computer's BIOS. Note: If the BIOS version on the
System Information page matches the BIOS link, go
to "Upgrade the operating system." If it is not the same
it says to "click the BIOS link to download your BIOS to
the floppy disk." The BIOS link says "return to step
#2." This goes in circles. How do I find out the BIOS
version of the upgrade that I am trying to install?

Greetings --

Ask your motherboard's manufacturer. The BIOS has nothing to do
with the OS, other than being compatible.
